5-4-13 Word On Wine Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc!
How cool is it to discover new things. It is for me! I had never had Chateauneuf-du-pape whites before and the two we tasted were really nice! Not cheap…but special.
1)2011 Les Cailloux! 80% Rousanne, 10% Clarette, 10% Grenache Blanc. $44. OK it ain’t cheap but Lucien and Andre Brunel don’t work for nothing! Check out their site it’s pretty cool! http://www.chateauneuf.dk/en/cdpen10.htm
2)2009 Domaine Font de Michel. 50% Grenache Blanc, 25% Clarette, 20% Bourboulenc and 5% Rousanne! $40. Completely different and completely intriguing. Check out the show for our reactions. If you wine store doesn’t have these get them to order them…you will be intrigued…we were.
