10-15-12 Word On Wine Review Fiagre?????
This week Mary Zajac (MZ) and I Jonathan Palevsky (JP) review two charming whites!
1)2011 Macon Laroche-Vineuse. Domaine Allain Normand. $18. Macon Laroch-Vineuse is in beautiful southern Burgundy and if you don’t want to pay a fortune for your Chardonnay this is a reasonably priced option.
2)2011 Fiagre. The producer was Cantine Antonio Caggiano. $21. This wine hailed from Campagna and was a blend of Fiano di Avellino and Grecho di Tufo. Hence the name…Fiagre! Not a sipper this is a wine with lots of character and personality! Like Jethro the Percheron it’s going to walk right up to you, stick its nose in your face and say HI!
