10-11-12 Word On Wine. GROWLERS ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ages ago my friend and colleague Charles Ellis used to swear by his Baltimore Brewing Company growler. For those not initiated the growler is a pail or large bottle used to carry beer home from a bar or brewery! Until this past July growlers were not legal in Baltimore City and Howard County. However, thanks to forward thinking green legislation you can now once again take home excellent fresh draft beer in a reusable container. I have done this several times with great success…instead of the usual bottle of wine or six pack, show up at someone’s home with a growler of fresh beer. A great way to make friends.
