6-18-12 Word On Wine Brunello! WooHoo!
This week Mary and I are living large…and I mean LARGE! We had a chance to taste some really fine Brunellos (Brunelli?). Either way we tasted some of the finest Italian wines in existence! Brunello di Montalcino is made of Sangiovese and requires tremendous care and lots of aging. Consequently there is not too much produced and it comes at a cost. We reviewed three examples of Brunello de Montalcino, all were lovely!
1)2004 Don Olga Brunello di Montalcino $75.
2)2003 Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino $150!
3)2000 Canalicchio di Sopra Brunello di Montalcino $80.
Check out the review below and if you can…treat yourself to one of Italy’s finest wines.
