Ancient, Yet Modern Dances
On Sunday, April 1, Towson University’s Asian Arts & Culture Center will present Kabuki Dance by Bando Kotoji. Although kabuki dates back to the 17th century, it remains a very popular art form in modern Japan; its star performers are celebrities & often appear in film or television roles. Kabuki dance borrows extensively from the kabuki theatrical tradition & is refined & elegant, yet allows for individual expression.
