In some ways Joseph Canteloube is the French Ralph Vaughan Williams in that he was an avid folk song collector. We’ll hear a good portion of Canteloube’s folk song collection in his gorgeous interpretation called, Songs of the Auvergne. On the eve of her birthday, Kiri Te Kanawa will sing these songs in her pure yet plush voice!
