9-19-15 Music In Maryland…Where in the world is David Zinman?
Last week Kati and I went to the BSO centennial gala and it was as if David Zinman had never conducted the orchestra! Frankly his years with the BSO as Music Director (1985 – 1998) were among the orchestras greatest. In this centennial year it is truly ridiculous that he still refuses to conduct the Baltimore Symphony. Fortunately the Zinman years with the BSO are replete with excellent recordings and we present a couple of amazing performances recorded live at the Meyerhoff. I don’t know what it would take for Maestro Zinman to return to Charm City…but sooner rather than later would be a good idea.
