8-17-15 Word On Wine Review Chateau la Fleur des Graves, Graves de Vayres
This week I review both the red and the white from Chateau La Fleur Des Graves. This is a very lovely and frankly affordable ($15-20) Bordeaux from the Graves de Vayres area. I hear that the village of Vayres is quite lovely and based on the wines I bet it is. I liked these wines very much so I bought a mixed case.
1)2012 Chateau La Fleur Des Graves White. 80% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% semillion and 5% Muscadelle. Crisp but with more than enough fruit to carry the day.
2)2011 Chateau La Fleur Des Graves Red. This was the classic 50% Cab, 50% Merlot blend. Unlike many other Bordeaux in this price range this had soft tannins and is ready to drink. It was nice when opened and even more an hour later.
Check out our show. I did have to order these wines but it was worth it.
