5-12-14 Word On Wine 2 American Rosés
This week we reviewed two new world Rosés both were using Rhone blends but the results were quite different.
1)Charles and Charles Rosé. Washington State. $13. The cepage was predominantly Syrah though it also contained some Grenache and some Mouvedre. The results were a little too fruity for our tastes but once the rose was left in the fridge for a day…it dried out and was nice!
2)2013 Tablas Creek Patelin Rosé. $14. This was primarily a Grenache blend which also had the other typical complimentary Rhone grapes. This was very nicely made and also benefited from some time with the air! I guess the point is Rosé season is here and it’s always great to try some.
