11-11-13 Word On Wine…Mary Takes Two Reds For The Team
This week despite copious hardship Mary tried two inexpensive reds. It’s tough work but someone has to do it!
1)2009 Cune Roija Crianza. $12. A nice example of the Tempranillo grape but nothing extraordinary. The fruit was tempered but not elegant!
2)2011 Conti Torraiolo Toscana Sangiovese-Cabernet Sauvignon. $8 in the bargain bin! This Mary liked much more. It had nice dark fruit and the cab gave it good structure…the blend was 85% Sangiovese and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
