Masaaki Suzuki Conducts Choral Works by J.S. Bach and Mendelssohn
In the spring of 2013, the NY Phil presented The Bach Variations: A Philharmonic Festival, during which Japanese Bach specialist Masaaki Suzuki made his Philharmonic debut leading the Bach Collegium Japan, the Yale Schola Cantorum, and a quartet of soloists. On this program, we will hear two Magnificats, by J.S. Bach and Mendelssohn, as well as a Bach motet and Mendelssohn’s Christus. Alec Baldwin is your host on The New York Philharmonic This Week.
