During the 10-week BSO Encore series there were compositions by several living composers. The last concert of the series featured Jennifer Higdon’s Pulitzer Prize winning Violin Concerto. Ms. Higdon generously gave me an interview about the creation of her concerto for violinist Hilary Hahn.

During the 10-week BSO Encore series It was such a pleasure to talk with all the living composers whose works were featured on the concerts. Grammy Award winning American composer, Michael Daugherty described the process of writing UFO for percussionist, Dame Evelyn Glennie.
