75 Years of Liberty Aboard the S.S. John W. Brown
During World War II, 2,710 Liberty Ships were built in the United States. Today, just two of them remain afloat and fully operational. On September 9, the 75th anniversary of the Baltimore-built S.S. John W. Brown‘s launch will be celebrated with a Living History Cruise. I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Seaman Paul Johnson about the ship’s role in wartime, later service as a school, and current career as a museum.
