Maryland Alpaca Festival
Usually when you hear about an appearance by someone from WBJC it’s one of the hosts, but this time around, it’s yours truly!
The 5th Annual Maryland Alpaca and Fleece Festival is taking place this Saturday and Sunday, November 15th and 16th at the Howard Country Fairgrounds and I’ll be demonstrating how to spin textured yarns on Sunday at 2:30pm.
Many of our WBJC volunteers have seen me spinning yarn on a drop spindle during the pledge drive, but this time I’ll be using spinning wheels and an Indian book charkha to spin cotton (just like Ghandi!)
The Alpaca Festival is a gathering of knitters, spinners, weavers and fiber enthusiasts of all flavors, but with an emphasis on alpaca fleece. The festival and all the demos/seminars are free, so come on out and enjoy food trucks, fiber and fun!
