This week Mary brought me a gift! Two bottles from the Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard. If you follow this program you know I’m a big fan of wine made in this area. Here is their web site http://wiemer.com/ take a look! You can even order from them directly!
1)Hermann J. Wiemer Rose Cuvee NV. NV meaning Non Vintage…thus juice from various years can be used in this blend…$12.50. This was a nice bone dry rose…perfect for Summer. While there was nothing wrong with this Rose blend…there was nothing outstanding about it either. The Rose market is so crowded it’s hard to compete.
2)Hermann J. Wiemer 2012 Dry Riesling. $18.50. While we were a little underwhelmed by the rose this Riesling was spectacular. To find a Riesling of this depth and personality at this price…buy with your eyes closed.
