Ooh, shiny! (Not a post about old jewelry. Really.)
Yesterday, Berlin Iron, today, the Berlin Wall. Contrary to popular belief, I don’t only look at jewelry when I visit the Baltimore Summer Antiques Show. Anything that catches my eye is fair game, & a whole booth full of large, shiny, official-looking optical instruments is bound to do just that. Last year, while strolling the show’s aisles, I gasped when I saw Daniels Antiques’ display of vintage binoculars. These sturdy, beautifully made objects are so stunning that they got my attention immediately – it actually took me a while to notice that the booth also contained paintings & antique Louis Vuitton trunks!
So where does the former East Germany come into this? Well, the large, cylindrical silver viewing device in the foreground of the pic once called the Berlin Wall home. How cool is that?
Just a reminder – WBJC’s new booth is making its debut at this year’s Baltimore Summer Antiques Show. We’re #2517 & we hope you’ll stop by & meet us! If you’d like to know when your favorite WBJC on-air host will be in our booth, check my blog post from this Tuesday, 8/21.
